CertPrepper editorial standards

Why is that the answer?

That question guides our explanations. An answer should make sense against a public source, not just look familiar after another practice round.

What is the lesson meant to explain?

We identify the certification type and public objective or requirement behind the topic. We use the governing source’s term and explain it without widening its scope. A study aid, an official requirement and a provider’s arrangements are different things.

What supports an explanation?

We prefer public agency guidance, original documentation and official support material. We check important claims against that material before using them in an explanation. If the evidence does not support an explanation, we leave it out or state the uncertainty. Exam logistics refer to the relevant testing organization’s current arrangements.

Where do the questions come from?

Our practice is original study material grounded in public objectives and sources. We do not use recalled exam questions or copied live question banks. Each answer needs an explanation; none is a promise about what will appear on your exam or whether you will pass.

CertPrepper is not affiliated with or endorsed by the EPA or a testing organization. The issuing organization remains the authority for its current exam arrangements.

Does a study explanation authorize equipment work?

No. These are not operating procedures or permission to service refrigerant, pressurized or electrical equipment. Applicable certification and training requirements and the equipment manufacturer’s instructions still govern the work.

What do images and experience claims mean?

A sourced explanation does not imply hands-on experience. Such findings are included only when documented. Explanatory illustrations are distinguished from photographs, and image credits and permissions are retained. We do not present an illustration as a product photograph from our testing.

Are commercial relationships disclosed?

Paid placements are labeled. An affiliate disclosure explains when CertPrepper may earn a commission from a link. A commercial relationship is not evidence for an answer.

What if the explanation needs another look?

We check reported errors against original evidence, correct material mistakes and explain significant changes on the article.
